Private High School in Knoxville
Upper School
Before you know it...
Your student has reached high school. They are becoming critical thinkers, organized time managers, and problem solvers. Our curriculum is enriched with stimulating extracurriculars, inspiring experiences, and opportunities for leadership. The upper school years ought to be a finishing season—gathering all the threads of your child's academic, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. It ought to be the capstone experience for your young adult.
Their growth shouldn't stop in the classroom. Through state and national competitions, interscholastic athletics, student-led chapel, dual-credit courses, trade courses, leadership opportunities, and community service, your upper schooler will discover their gifts, pursue their passions, and graduate to make a lasting impact on the world for Christ.
Upper School academic program
The Triumph of Christ - Focuses on the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles, and the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Students will trace the origin and development of the church in Acts, the doctrinal arguments in the Epistles, and the consummation of God’s redemptive plan in Revelation.
Bible Doctrines - Explores all major doctrinal categories to help students apply principles of Bible study. Students will be encouraged to form doctrinal positions according to biblical teaching and apply those positions to their own lives as they interact with their culture and stand firm in their faith.
Biblical Worldview - Confronted with the key claims of a biblical worldview and learn to apply the Creation-Fall-Redemption framework to today’s cultural challenges—from the gender controversy to technology and government issues. Students will learn how to understand and engage with modern issues through a biblical lens.
Survey of the Bible - Provides an overview of the Old Testament including the books of history, poetry, and prophecy, with special regard to its historical context. In the second semester, students will survey the New Testament, including the intertestamental period. Emphasis is placed on elements such as the theme of each book, key verse and words, as well as the background of the human penman. Highlighted are the life and ministry of Christ, the establishment of the church, and teachings concerning the believer’s faith and practice.

"My motivation for teaching comes from my desire to follow the Lord’s leading in my own life. It is my hope that my students will also learn to seek and follow His guidance in their lives."

"I was motivated to become a teacher by my deep love for mathematics and my strong desire to help students learn. Math provides a unique opportunity for us to understand more about God and better describe the world that He created."
