Debate

Upper school students have the opportunity to participate in speech and debate through an interscholastic team, competing in debate, public speaking, and interpretation events. Competitive speech teaches students to think carefully, to respond wisely to opposing viewpoints and to effectively communicate what they believe. Academy debate teams have been extraordinarily successful, winning four straight state championships and three consecutive national titles.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
